About Me
Hello, my name is Justin Kulas and I'm a reporter for Eagle Valley Student Media. Growing up, I've always been interested in journalism and how stories are told using Journalism. Every day before I started my day I would always watch the news or read through the AP or the New York Times. Even though I wasn't intending on going into Journalism I was still interested in the craft itself. So in my Sophomore year, I took an intro class to Journalism; I ended up loving that class so I decided to join Eagle Valley Student Media. I'm a part of Broadcast Journalism because I see it as a medium to highlight the stories of those that we don't hear very often. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, the issues of underrepresented people are extremely important to me. Through my reporting, I hope that I can bring a spotlight to these issues. My main skills are in behind-the-camera roles, but I try to be as flexible as possible and I'm willing to take any role to ensure the story goes as smoothly as possible. I am relatively new to working in broadcast journalism, but I'm developing my skills and gaining experience that will soon be valuable to any media organization I could work with in the future.
